Unknown

I never decided if I believe in fate
Or if what I feel warns of what awaits
If dreams have links to reality
If there is such a thing as destiny
I never decided on a God to love
Or if I believe in heaven above
If ghost exist by humans side
If life exists after ones died
I never decided if freedom is achievable
Or if evil is defeatable
If man can tell truth from lie
If one can ever honorably die.

Flower and Sun

The flower and the sun
Work together as one
The sun lends it's light
To aid the flowers might
The flower gives us oxygen
So we can keep breathing
The air allows the flower
On seas and land to tower
The flower gives the sun
A reason to come
And shine on the earth each day
In it's magnificent way.

Beautiful Butterfly

So many colors
So proudly you wear
and yet
So peaceful
Beautiful Butterfly

Ballerina

Bright lights
shining on the stage
eyes fixed
waiting watching
music begins
the figure moves
gracefully she moves
spins and turns
leaps and steps
across the stage
swift graceful movements
then
suddenly she falls
the crowd gasps
her ankle sprained
but up she rises
and continues on
smiling without a trace
of the pain
she must be in
on she goes
till the music stops
her performance over
she exits the stage
the crowd
applauds
goes wild
they cheer for her
the dancing girl
she returns limping\leaning on a friend
to take her bow
and leave

Where Is Hope

Where is hope
The thing ive lost
For seems I cannot find
O please lead me
I beg of you
To this thing I need called hope
Is it in the farmers fields
Or in the servants soap
Can I find it in my mind
Or in the past left behind
This thing I need called hope
Does it come in newborn life
Or with the gentle pope
Is it found in celebration
Or in all of gods creation
This thing I need called hope
O where, where be hope
The thing I lost
For seems I cannot find
O please lead me
I beg of you
To this thing I need called hope
But alas oh joy!
It seems I have found
Twas nowhere I had guessed
But it was inside of me
Ah rejoice, rejoice
For I have found
This thing I need called hope

Butterfly

Butterfly oh butterfly
Oh where today
Do you fly
Above the ills
Or snowy mountain tops
Or is it citties where you stop
Butterfly oh butterfly
Do you smell the flowers to
Do you land upon them gentle-like
Or fly on by
Butterfly oh butterfly
Oh where today
Do you fly

Back Yard Citizens

The firefly
blinks its light
from its behind
to tell his friends
where they may find
him

the spider
spins his web
to catch a treat
prehaps a fly
for him to eat
tonight

the butterfly
flutters her wings
and lands upon a rose
showing off her design
and posing
beautifully

Winter Morning

The way the morning light shines
on the frosted grass fields
so they glitter and sparkle
this cold winter morning

the way the snow falls
on streets and buildings
and melts on my skin
this white winter morning

the way the air smells
of fires and wintergreen
lifting, enlightening my senses
this sweet winter morning. Creative Commons License

If I Were

If I were the Rain
I'd wash your face each day and night

If I were Lightning
I'd strike your enemies one by one

If I were Thunder
I'd wake you at danger

If I were a Tree
I'd shelter you from the merciless storm

If I were the Grass
I'd provide a soft place for you to rest

If I were the Clouds
I'd cushion your head when you were injured

If I were the Wind
I'd dry your quiet tears

If I were the Dark
I'd hide you from evil

If I were the Light
I'd show you your path, your friends, and your enemies

If I were a Storm
I'd make sure you know I love you. Creative Commons License

Snowflakes

I swear I've seen
the same piece of snow
traveling past
my frosty window.
I think in my mind,
perhaps it blows
around and around
never touching the ground.
But I mind not a bit
as I watch where I sit
With snow flying by
my fascinated eyes.
The pure white snow
against wintry grey skies
from high up above
down the snow flies.
If only time would stop.
Let me gaze a bit more,
but work must be done,
life goes on as before.

Parted From The Path

Parted from the path which once I walked
Found I freedom in being lost
Far from civilized society I am
Engrossed in wilderness, colored, deep.
On earths natural supplies, alone I live
Running through me, newfound pureness flows
Myself, I grow closer to each day.
Return to the path, I do not desire
Rather I stay forever lost
Where my heart and soul, nothing taints
Where inside myself freedom flourishes
Where once more simple life may be
Parted, I am, from the path which once I walked
I, here, am free and calm.

Sisters

I was the first to breathe
you were the first to leave
I was the one left behind
You were the one to go
and I know it's not your fault
my heart is bleeding on the floor
and the pillows wet with tears
I was the first to breathe
you were the first to leave
It shouldn't be that way

Watching

Clouds hover above
giving way to rain
covering the streets it may
as eyes full of expression
watch
watching
watching the rain clatter
a child is watching

Sword

My eyes filled with blood
I slash away
swung at armor and flesh
clashing with others
sparks flying
suddenly I am dropped
I lay unconscious
when I wake
all is silent
my body bloody
uncleaned
my friend and partner
no where to be seen
I'm all alone
unsheathed
unwielded
in rain and sun
for years to come
till another comes along
to wield my blade
to battle again.

Consequences Of Doing Nothing

When war broke out
and people risked their lives
I stood still
and I did nothing

When my neighbor lost his home
and was living on the streets
I stood still
and I did nothing

When I saw a kid with a gun
on his way to school
I stood still
and I did nothing

When my friend cried out
for someone to help
I stood still
and I did nothing

When a homeless man looked at me
and asked me for my change
I stood still
and I did nothing

When I saw a young man
shooting drugs up his arm
I stood still
and I did nothing

When an old man was working
straining to lift boxes for money
I stood still
and I did nothing

When I saw a man crying
because he could not feed his family
I stood still
and I did nothing

When a nation was screaming
as their government killed them
I stood still
and I did nothing

When I saw a child with bruises
from being abused
I stood still
and I did nothing

When I saw a woman raped
in a dark alley way
I stood still
and I did nothing

When I saw a child crying
because he lost his mommy
I stood still
and I did nothing

When I saw a group of kids
bullying a young boy
I stood still
and I did nothing

When I saw a man stealing
from a defenseless old woman
I stood still
and I did nothing

When I saw a teen on the street
selling drugs to a kid
I stood still
and I did nothing

When I found myself needing help
I cried out
But the world stood still
and they did nothing
